Overview:


Key to the growth of Abpro is the ability to develop candidate drugs into medicines that can be filed, approved by regulatory agencies and commercialized successfully in an increasingly competitive marketplace. 

 

The Program/Project Management role is a critical function and will be responsible for leading and coordinating all activities associated with advancing a program through pre-clinical and clinical development, regulatory submission, manufacturing and product launch. High expectations are placed on the Program/Project Manager function to lead the drug development process in a timely and financially responsible manner. The Program/Project Manager will be responsible for utilizing systems and processes to track budgets and timelines for each project.

 

Additionally, the Program/Project Manager will be responsible for maintaining outstanding communications with all functional leaders and providing key information and updates to the Senior Management team, including the CEO.

 

Responsibilities:


  • Develop, implement and monitor a comprehensive product/project plan for all active candidate program/projects
  • Provide guidance to the management and team leaders in the development, pre-clinical, regulatory filing and clinical processes
  • Work with respective functional leaders to drive the creativity of innovative product target profiles and product development plans that optimize value, time, resources and risk while ensuring that Program strategy is aligned with business objectives
  • Work with executive leadership to ensure projects have adequate resources and technical expertise to meet strategic objectives
  • Accountable for ensuring adherence of project planning and activities to agreed time, resources, budget and scope
  • Accountable for project team documentation
  • Responsible for identifying issues and risks and leading contingency planning
  • Ensure conflict resolution at project team or higher level
  • Drive decision making in Project Management teams
  • Present strategic issues, project updates and options and recommendations to Senior Management team
  • Representing the Project Management function internally and externally with significant interaction with external contract manufacturing and research organizations (CMOs and CROs).
  • Maintaining commercial, scientific, regulatory and manufacturing awareness to ensure that the project plans reflect the latest scientific/medical developments and regulatory/commercial environment

 

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Degree (i.e. bachelor’s) in a scientific, medical or business discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 to 18 years of biopharmaceutical industry experience with half of that experience being in a Project Management function
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial development stage company is highly desirable.
  • Proven management and/or leadership experience in an R&D context within pharma and/or biotech
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of the global drug development with particular knowledge of manufacturing/operations
  • Experience of early phase (pre-clinical,I/II) drug development, regulatory submissions and product launch
  • Excellent leadership skills and a proven ability to manage development projects
  • An outstanding knowledge and experience running Project Management teams, leading cross functional teams and interacting with Senior Management
  • Strategic thinker with excellent problem solving skills and an ability to influence all levels of the company
  • Ability to take initiative and have a hands-on approach toward achieving business results
  • Ability to achieve results with colleagues of diverse functional expertise, skills and priorities.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo where relevant and resolve conflict within the team while maintaining clear focus on business objectives
  • Ability to lead by influence rather than by command
  • Ability to work with external partners to achieve business results
  • Ability to provide Senior Management with candid and accurate information regarding project progress and issues related to development projects
  • Responsible for routine communications between development teams and Senior Management
  • Strong capability in budgeting and financial planning and working with finance teams are highly desired
  • Ability to drive, anticipate, influence and implement change
  • Ability to be effective as a team player as well as a team leader (excellent listening and collaboration skills)
  • Excellent planning and tracking skills.

 

Desirable:

  • An additional/postgraduate qualification will be a distinct advantage (Ph.D., MBA, etc.)
  • Experience in more than one therapeutic area
  • Experience in the development of Antibody Therapeutics
