Job Description

Working as a member of the team responsible for the development and production of New England Biolabs (NEB) Next Generation Sequencing product line (NEBNext), this individual will be focused on coordinating and supporting all stages of the transition of new custom products from development to product release.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop new tests and implement new analysis workflows for custom sequencing validation

  • Design new quality controls and functional validation assays for future products.

  • Perform stringent quality control assays on all components of custom NEBNext products.

  • Prepare formulations of custom NEBNext products for next generation sequencing sample preparation.

  • Coordinate and assist in the production and assembly of custom orders.

  • Manage, plan, and forecast inventory.

  • Assist customers and collaborators with technical inquiries and assist with troubleshooting.


Required Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology or related field; masters preferred.

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience with next generation sequencing technologies from sample preparation to data analysis.

  • Ability to independently design and execute experiments, as well as analyze and interpret data.
  • Have "good hands" with proven bench skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver technical presentations.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Capable of self-management within a fast-paced team framework.
  • Goal and deadline oriented with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Have a strong work ethic, emphasizing both efficiency and quality of work.
