Job Description

New England Biolabs, Inc., a recognized leader in enzyme design and development is growing.  The Production department is seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the production of the NEBNext product line.  This includes use of highly sensitive quality control assays and maintenance of stocks, as well as updating technical literature on the website and assisting customers with technical inquiries. As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the high product quality and superior customer service that our customers have come to expect.    

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture buffers and enzyme mixes for next generation sequencing sample preparation.

  • Perform stringent quality control assays on all components in the product line and assist in the development of new QC assays.

  • Track and maintain inventory of kits, vialed kit components, and bulk stocks of reagents used in the production of the NEBNext line of products.

  • Coordinate and assist in the assembly and packaging of next generation sequencing sample preparation kits.

  • Coordinate and assist in the production and assembly of custom orders.

  • Assist customers with technical inquiries regarding NEBNext Products.

  • Provide additional support; this includes troubleshooting, protocol review, buffer preparation and enzyme stability studies.

  • Work closely with the Applications and Product Development department to commercialize new products for the NEBNext product line.

 

Requirements

 Qualifications and Experience:

  • B.S. in molecular biology or related field.

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a life science role.

  • Experience performing standard molecular biology and other laboratory techniques.

  • Have "good hands" with proven bench skills.

  • Be goal and deadline oriented with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Strong ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Be capable of self-management within a fast-paced team framework.

  • Knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing workflows preferred.
