Job Description

Pacific Biosciences looking for enthusiastic, results-oriented Product Manager to join our Informatics Product Marketing.  
This role will be responsible for expanding PacBio’s analytical portfolio through growing, maintaining and supporting the PacBio Developer’s Network (DevNet) and PacBio’s Analytical Partners program. 

Responsibilities:
•    Understand customer needs for analysis applications 
•    Foster a thriving community centered on the analysis of PacBio data
•    Develop product marketing materials, promotional campaigns, organize scientific events
•    Collaborate with Applications Lab Scientists, Field Applications Specialists and Engineering, to help developing Bioinformatics training programs and documentation
•    Partner with customer support to drive customer feedback 
•    Provide input for detailed informatics product strategy and roadmap to meet company objectives
•    Contribute to business plans for informatics products that include opportunity assessment, positioning strategy, financial analysis, and required tactical plans to support successful adoption

Requirements

•    M.S. in Bioinformatics, Statistics, Life Sciences, Computer Science, or related disciplines, preferably related to computational biology, along with 3 to 5+ years of relevant industry, genome center, and/or DNA sequencing core facility experience, or a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Statistics, Life Sciences, Computer Science, or related disciplines, preferably related to computational biology, along with 1 to 5+ years of relevant industry, genome center, and/or DNA sequencing core facility experience.
•    1-3 years in product management/marketing positions
•    Basic Linux operation
•    Hands on experience with  bioinformatics analysis pipelines
•    Proficiency  with common sequence analysis tools and workflows such as sequence alignment, genome visualization, comparative genomics, structural variation discovery, and epigenetics
•    Familiarity with building/deploying applications in a Linux environment
•    Familiarity with a scripting language such as Perl or Python
•    Familiarity with a statistical package such as R
•    Prior experience within the biotechnology, medical device, biologics, pharmaceutical, genome center, and/or DNA sequencing core facility experience is a plus
•    Preference shown to candidates who have a good understanding of molecular genetics and prior experience in next-generation DNA sequencing analysis
