Job Description

A Principal Scientist position is available in the Oligonucleotide Development Group for an individual with experience in oligonucleotide purification and oligonucleotide characterization by analytical methods.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Job responsibilities will include development of oligonucleotide purification methods to be used in commercial production, scale up of existing manufacturing processes, oligonucleotide characterization by HPLC and UPLC and diafiltration process development.
  • The candidate will also be expected to evaluate new methodology and instrumentation to ensure that current and future oligonucleotide production needs are met.
  • The successful candidate will be required to work in the lab, offer guidance and support to junior staff, interface with the Research and Manufacturing Groups, prepare documentation to transfer purification and diafiltration processes to the Manufacturing Group and troubleshoot manufacturing problems, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry is preferred.
  • A Master degree in similar areas with 5 years of industrial experience is also acceptable.
  • Industrial experience in oligonucleotide/protein preparative purification and analytical chemistry is desirable.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills are required.
  • Exposure to cGMP guidelines is desirable. Strong verbal/written skills are required.
