Ambry Genetics provides the opportunity for recent doctoral degree recipients to both enhance their research goals and obtain leading diagnostic industry experience at our campus in Aliso Viejo, CA.
This position is open for a highly motivated scientist interested in studying the interplay between genetic variation and cancer biology. This position requires a strong knowledge of genetics, molecular biology, and cell biology. It is expected that this position will result in publications in highly regarded peer-reviewed journals. The postdoctoral fellow will gain valuable experience in a molecular diagnostics company and contribute to the understanding of functional significance of genetic variation.
This is a one-year program that can be renewed up to three years. It is a paid full time position with benefits. Expenses toward the project, laptop, computer equipment, and laboratory research supplies are covered by Ambry.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The postdoctoral fellow will be required to conduct research projects associated with variant assessment independently and collaboratively. He/she will be responsible for presenting data at internal group, department, and/or other company meetings, as well as various external meetings when appropriate. Each postdoc will be assigned a mentor at Ambry that will provide scientific advice and guidance. All Ambry postdocs are expected to publish results both internally and externally.
Length: This is a one-year program that can be renewed up to three years. Each year needs confirmation from sponsor and the APP that trainee is making significant progress towards goals.
