Job Description

The Computational Biology Branch of the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), is seeking a postdoctoral candidate to perform research in a multidisciplinary field including pharmacogenomics, bioinformatics and cheminformatics.

Applicants for Fellowship positions need not be U.S. citizens.  Appointments are made either within the NIH Intramural Research Training Award Program or within the Visiting Fellows Program of the National Institutes of Health (http://www1.od.nih.gov/oir/sourcebook/prof-desig/postdoc.htm). 

Requirements

Candidates should have a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degree, with strong backgrounds in biology, genomics, chemistry, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related fields. Successful candidates should demonstrate strong interest and research experience in designing and developing novel computational methods for integrating large scale chemical biology and genomic data, and making inferences through data mining public biomedical information in support of health and disease study. Strong computer programming skills with C, C++, SQL, or other script languages are required. Applicants should have 5 years or less of postdoctoral experience.
