Postdoc in liver genomics and bioinformatics

 

We are seeking a highly qualified postdoc fellow experienced in bioinformatics/biostatistics methodologies and interested in their application for clinical outcome prediction, disease classification, and therapeutic target discovery in liver and other diseases. The candidate will work on variety of large-scale data derived from high-throughput genomics assays such as sequencing and microarray. There will be ample opportunities to publish via close daily interaction with experienced bioinformatics, cancer biology, and clinical experts at the Institute and numerous national and international collaborators. The lab is a part of the Tisch Cancer Institute in the newly launched beautiful Center for Science and Medicine building, housing cutting-edge research facilities and world-class scientists, located in Upper East Side of Manhattan.

Requirements

- Highly motivated MD, PhD, MD/PhD or equivalent in Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, or other relevant areas.

- Experience of high-throughput genomic data analysis especially next-generation sequencing.

- Experience of biochemical techniques and high-throughput assays.

- Significant familiarity with standard machine learning and statistical modeling algorithms.

- Strong programing skills with a statistical computing language such as R and Matlab.

- Software engineering skills (Java, SQL, web application) are big plus.

- Quick learner of new technologies and analysis algorithms.

- Strong interpersonal skills and a track record of collaborative work in multidisciplinary research environment.
