Job Description

Join our team in the Genomic Identification Lab ( led by Dr. Seth A. Faith for exciting tranformative research in DNA forensics.  This National Institute of Justice sposored program focuses on next-generation sequencing and bioinformatics to characterize forensic markers used in criminal justice, including microsatellite and SNP typing of 1500 human samples and the development of web-based bioinformatic tools to conduct profile matching.


Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g., M.D., D.V.M., Sc.D.) in appropriate field awarded no more than five (5) years from initial date of postdoctoral appointment. Demonstrated experience in programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Java) is a must.

In addition, preference may be given to applicants with demonstrated experience in the following:
Database management systems
Bioinformatics or analytics for biological data
Cloud computing
Data mining and machine learning
Network security
Forensic science
