Job Description

The Research Centre for Toxic Compounds in the Environment (RECETOX) is an independent research institute of the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, which is actively expanding its research activities into medical field. As part of this strategy, we are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to strengthen our research in computational pathology. The candidate is supposed to pursue her/his own research in pathology image analysis and to collaborate with the others researchers in bioinformatics, oncology and machine learning, for developing multimodal (imaging and *omics) predictive and prognostic models. This a long term position (at least three years) and represents and excellent opportunity to participate in interdisciplinary medical research.

Requirements

- PhD in computer science or equivalent, with a thesis in biomedical imaging. Experience in pathology image analysis is a big plus;

- Strong programming skills in at least two of Python, C/C++, Matlab. Knowledge of Julia and R is appreciated;

- Strong publication record with articles in international peer reviewed journals;

- English proficiency and excellent written and oral communication skills.

Previous exposure to bioinformatics and *omics data analysis and/or deep learning techniques, while not required, is considered an important asset.
