TGen seeks a postdoctoral fellow for the Adrenocortical Carcinoma (ACC) unit. Rare cancers represent an understudied segment, but also afford development of translational research skills amenable to applications across other tumor types. Leveraging a unique collection of ACC cell lines and tumorgraft models, the Fellow will conduct studies to discover & develop targeted therapies. Research strategies include high throughput screening, genomic profiling, functional genomics, and ACC tissue microarrays, which will uncover targetable alterations responsible for ACC progression and metastasis. The project will identify novel drug treatment for ACC using cell line models and validate the finding in animal models. By closely working with clinicians at TGen's Clinical Research Service, the laboratory findings will be positioned for translation to clinical trials. Utilizing TGen’s unique in vitro and in vivo tumor models, the Fellow will contribute to delivery of new therapeutics for clinical use against ACC. Fellows pursuing parallel studies at TGen on other solid tumors create a critical mass of team-science, each member bringing experience in tumor biology, high throughput screening, preclinical modeling, bioinformatics, and drug discovery & development aligned with genomic profiling for precision medicine. Career development opportunities for the Fellow include pharmaceutical company leadership, university/academic appointment, and program leadership at an independent research institute.
