The Corey Laboratory in the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center is recruiting a Post-Doctoral Fellow or Staff Scientist to conduct laboratory bench research using state-of-the-art technologies for defining the tissue immune responses to HSV. These include laser capture, immunocytochemistry, and in situ hybridization of HSV DNA and RNA. Experience with histology / immunofluorescence / immunocytochemistry is desired. This is a unique opportunity to interrogate host viral interaction in vivo and use molecular techniques to help define how herpes simplex virus interacts with the human host in vivo at the point of attack. The position will be responsible in developing standard protocols and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. In addition to performing bench experiments, the individual is expected to help write manuscripts, grant proposals and present research at scientific meetings.

Successful candidates will have:
- A Ph.D. in Immunology/Virology or a related field
- Knowledge of standard molecular techniques
- Candidate should be a self-starter, able to work both independently and in a team
- Strong analytical, writing, communication, and problem solving skills are desired
