We are seeking a full-time pediatric clinical geneticist with interest and expertise in the evaluation and diagnosis of patients with a wide variety of genetic disorders.   Be on the forefront of identifying and solving medical mysteries at Columbia University Medical Center.  We harness genetics to diagnose and treat rare and complex diseases. Our genetic clinical team is comprised of medical geneticists, genetic counselors, social worker, nurse practitioner and program manager. Our prominent clinical service continues to grow and evaluates patients who travel from around the world to receive their care with us.

 

The Division of Clinical Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics at Columbia University Medical Center is actively recruiting a Clinical Geneticist Pediatrician at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to be part of our highly regarded DISCOVER team -  Diagnosis Initiative: Seeking Care and Opportunities with Vision for Exploration and Research. Responsibilities will include patient care (inpatient consultations, outpatient genetics clinics) and teaching of medical students and residents. Opportunities are available for clinical research and collaboration with physician/scientists. Columbia University's Medical Center provides world-class leadership in scientific research, medical education and patient care.  

Requirements

Applicants should be board certified or board eligible in Medical Genetics.  Candidates are expected to have excellent clinical and interpersonal skills and experience in teaching.  Teaching medical students and residents and participating in a variety of educational conferences are essential components of this position.
