Job Description

Reporting to the Technical Support Manager, the individual in this position will primarily be responsible for providing technical support to customers for the NEBNext/ NGS product line.  In addition, this individual will work closely with the Marketing Department and NEBNext team to maintain the appropriate technical literature in manuals, written materials and on our website. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Respond to NGS technical inquiries from customers via phone and email; this includes NEB’s US Field Account Managers and inside sales team.

  • Provide technical assistance on our NGS product portfolio to NEB’s international subsidiaries and international distributor’s.

  • Assist the Marketing Department and the NEBNext team with the maintenance of NGS technical literature in the form of manuals, marketing materials and product information on our website.

  • Perform technical support system maintenance in conjunction with the tech support team; this includes managing customer contact information in salesforce.

  • Participate in technical training sessions as needed.  


Qualifications and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or related discipline with 5 years of relevant experience; master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred.    

  • Strong theoretical knowledge of next generation sequencing instruments and workflows; practical NGS experience is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent task management and organizational skills and a high level of self-motivation.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with others.

  • Experience in customer support is preferred.
