Job Description

Multiple positions, ranging from postdoctoral fellow to masters position, are available in Dr. Sue Hammoud's lab and collaborating groups in the Department of Human Genetics and Department of Computational Medicine and Bioinformatics at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.  The research activities cover the general range of population and statistical genetics, bioinformatics, computational biology, developmental genomics, epigenetics and single cell RNAseq.

The 1-2 available positions include Postdoctoral Fellow at the entry-level (PhD) and Lab Associate (Masters) at the mid-level.  Current projects include single cell RNAseq analysis, germ cell heterogenity, and epigenomic characterization .


Successful applicants need to have strong statistical and computational skills, including proficiency with one or more programming languages (R, Python, etc.) and in the Linux environment.  A Maters or PhD in genetics, bioinformatics, biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field is expected.  Prior training in molecular biology is helpful but not essential.  Exposures to quantitative biomedical research, such as applying computational methods to genomic analyses, is seen as a strong plus.   Also highly valued are communicate skills, ability to interpret data, and a track record of effective project management.
