We are seeking a master engineer to be a researcher in an innovative and multidisciplinary team to create and develop the next generation of analytical life science measurement systems! In this role, you will drive the realization of complex measurement products and manufacturing equipment that integrate mechanical systems, controls, software, fluidics, and automation with chemical or biological assays to process and analyze a broad range of biological samples from fixed tissue to nucleic acids.

This position requires a candidate with outstanding design skills, hands-on ability, systems integration skills, leadership, and the willingness to mentor, problem-solve, and quickly adapt to the demands of rapidly developing, multifaceted projects.

You will use your broad technology background to propose new research directions, architect new products, and integrate the work of a multi-disciplined team!

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelors, Masters or Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in product or equipment design and development, ideally for life science measurements
  • Proven skill in systems integration and automation of complex products or equipment
  • Experience integrating hardware systems with software, fluidics, optics and imaging, and chemical delivery
  • Demonstrated skill in troubleshooting complex systems and precision measurement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion for working in a diverse, fast-paced, collaborative, and exciting technology environment
  • Proven leadership, initiative, and creativity
  • Strong work ethic and teammate attributes with the ability to mentor
