Job Description

The Marketing Copywriter will be responsible for collaborating with peers on conceptual development and will write/edit various marketing and promotional materials. This person must possess strong conceptual, writing craft and visualization skills. This person ensures marketing messages are relevant, compelling and written in brand voice. This will be a 3 month temporary assignment. Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with graphic designers to provide credible, exciting concepts that effectively reflect marketing strategies.
  • Work with Marketing team to understand customer behaviors and attitudes, go-to-market strategies, product positioning and messaging to create relevant and compelling campaigns to support business objectives
  • Ensure copy is consistent with company tone and style, acting as steward of the brand voice for marketing communications
  • Communicate ideas clearly, professionally, and persuasively at an individual and group level – presenting and ‘selling’ solutions to marketing strategies, content and business objectives
  • Generate copy that meets strategic requirements for a broad range of assignments
  • Act as an editorial/writing expert and reviewer for materials as needed
  • Complete content corrections resulting from the review process, ensuring all deliverables are met
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal clients, appropriately influencing relevant stakeholders to achieve short- and long-term goals
  • Identify work process improvements; exercise sound business judgment with minimal supervision, raising issues to departmental management as appropriate and offering value-added solutions
  • Bachelors of Arts degree, preferably in Journalism, English or Communications
  • 5+ years copywriting experience in an advertising or marketing environment required
  • Experience in healthcare or life sciences highly preferred
  • Portfolio/writing samples that demonstrate concepting/writing skills
  • Strong conceptual, writing craft and visualization skills
  • Strong presentation skills with ability to effectively present campaign concepts and creative
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate medical/scientific aspects of product
  • Experience developing and complying with brand and messaging standards
  • Experience writing and critiquing creative briefs and managing the full concept-to-launch process is a strong plus
  • Skilled in Adobe InDesign/InCopy CS6 is a plus
  • Effective organizational and time management skills; ability to set priorities, complete tasks, and meet strict deadlines
  • A high degree of professionalism with proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
