Job Description

Under the direction of the CEO and/or Chief Medical Officer, the Manager of Laboratory Operations is accountable for the administrative direction of the laboratory (clinical and/or support services divisions) including all planning, implementation, operations and evaluation of programs, revenue analysis, budget management, and human resources management activities to ensure optimal turnaround times, quality and profitable growth.  Ensures compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agency standards, including CAP, CLIA, and OSHA while working closely with the Medical Director and other staff pathologists. There are 10 direct reports and total 60 employees within eastern US location and one west coast.


This is a senior management position responsible for the strategic oversight and leadership direction; oversees several business functions or divisions; provides leadership to department managers; may also manage first-line supervisors and/or professional staff.  This position level reports to a member of the Executive Team.


Five (5) to Eight (8) years experience  in a clinical laboratory with progressive responsibility preferred; Three to five years experience managing staff, protocols , policies and procedures in a clinical laboratory.
