Job Description

The Manager of KOL Advocacy and Development will be responsible for supporting Field Medical Affairs to develop and implement a KOL strategy. This role will manage day-to-day operations around KOL engagement and act as the conduit between KOLs and Medical Science Liaisons. This position will require working closely with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholder to ensure effective KOL engagement. The Manager will play a critical role in working with affiliates to continuously improve the process to enable effective adoption of GeneSight. This role will report to the Associate Director of Medical Affairs.                                                                                                                                        PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and drive the KOL strategy in collaboration with Medical Affairs leadership, and lead the identification of emerging trends in KOL engagement
  • Represent the company at medical congresses and scientific conventions
  • Report competitive intelligence around key competitor KOL activities
  • Lead company initiatives as needed in the field to ensure positive business outcomes
  • Works with the Medical Affairs team to address strategic resource allocation
  • Demonstrate scientific and business expertise relevant to GeneSight and respective therapeutic areas
  • Interface with internal stakeholders to ensure brand objectives, strategies and tactics translate over to KOL engagement goal and strategies in a compliant fashion                 


  • Scientific or clinical degree in the life sciences with 3 years of KOL management experience
  • Superior presentation skills
  • Direct experience with KOL engagement activities (either field or office-based)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate well with colleagues, and excel in a matrix structure
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment, and also work independently on projects. History of timely tactical execution
  • Ability to manage effectively one’s projects, and to meet deadlines while maintaining high quality standards
  • Ability to develop and consider innovative alternatives when addressing problems and opportunities
  • Familiar with technologies like SharePoint and CRM systems desired
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments
  • Excellent time management, scheduling, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively under tight timelines and schedules
