The Medical Imaging LPN provides quality nursing care for patients in the imaging setting. The nurse is knowledgeable in meeting the basic physical, psychological, cultural, and educational needs of patients. The nurse effectively escalates the care of patients with complex clinical needs to the Charge RN.
Performs a focused basic nursing assessment, as appropriate, pre- and post-Imaging scans/procedures. Escalates the care of patients with complex clinical needs to the Charge RN as appropriate.
Properly reviews patient allergies and consult with Charge RN and/or Radiologist regarding any concerns (i.e. history of contrast allergy, or identified as higher risk for contrast reaction per SCCA policy).
Successfully initiates peripheral intravenous access according to SCCA policy and procedure. Successfully identifies and manages the care of central lines (including accessing of Implanted Vascular Access Ports) according to SCCA policy and procedure.
4. WORK REQUIREMENTS
IV.A. Training, Education and Experience (Required)
- Licensure in the State of Washington as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Recognizes stages of growth and responds accordingly with care options.
- Current CPR card
- Previous professional LPN experience required
IV.B. Education and Experience (Preferred)
- 2-3 years of professional LPN practice preferred.
- Recent experience in peripheral venous access preferred.
