Job Description

Are you interested in participating in the future of molecular biology and genome engineering? We are looking for someone who is inspired by our mission and who would fit in well with the collaborative, rigorous and entrepreneurial spirit of the company culture.  Synthego is seeking an Investor Development and Finance. This is a dynamic position reporting directly to Synthego's CEO and President. You will be overseeing investor development and financial planning and analysis at Synthego. Fundraising Responsibilities: 

  • Work closely with the executive team to support all fundraising activities
  • Be the primary liaison for existing and new investors
  • Work with executives to analyze investment options and provide data-supported recommendations for use in discussions
  • Assist in preparation of investor materials including presentations and updates
  • Manage all due diligence associated with investment rounds

 FP&A Responsibilities: 

  • Overseeing financial planning and analysis at Synthego
  • Participate in long-range strategic planning, including multi-year, multi-scenario forecasting and modeling
  • Drive quarterly financial planning cycles, ensuring alignment with changing strategy and business plans
  • Manage internal and external metrics reporting
  • Boil complex financial and investment related issues down to the essential elements and present clear recommendations to decision makers at all levels
  • Provide financial and integration support as needed in response to company’s business development activities
  • Work with department heads to develop unit cost models (eg. Production, software services, licenses etc.)
  • Participate in pricing discussions and present pricing models aligned with company capabilities, drawing on market research
  • Develop business intelligence/analytics/benchmark metrics for products and/or services
  • Actively seek opportunities to introduce new tools and improve analysis used for executive communications
  • Be the primary liaison for coordinating tax filing, financial statements preparation, and reporting, and other finance and accounting related tasks 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or similar
  • 5+ years of direct and progressive experience in financial planning and analysis
  • Expertise with Excel modeling a MUST
  • Demonstrated analytical and qualitative skills with track record of delivering insights which improve business results
  • Local applicants strongly preferred / Immediate availability required / No relocation package

 Bonus Qualifications 

  • Experience in investment banking or venture capital
  • Experience with NetSuite a plus
  • Experience in a startup + tech experience is highly preferred 
  • Curiosity or domain experience in manufacturing or production
