Venesco, LLC, is looking for a Health Promotion Support Specialist to work as a full-time employee at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA, to design primary and secondary interventions for San Diego Population Health beneficiaries utilizing evidence based methodologies (such as PRECEDE-PROCEED, social marketing, etc.), and incorporating best practices as deemed relevant to San Diego Population Health beneficiaries.

This position will work in conjunction with government health/wellness personnel and leaders to develop and implement a comprehensive population health social media strategy that results in increased beneficiary engagement with population health programs and initiatives.

This position will serve as a subject matter resource for primary and secondary intervention strategies to command personnel responsible for delivering interventions to population health beneficiaries. Will investigate individual, social and environmental determinants of health relevant for population Health beneficiaries and apply multiple criteria for targeting and prioritizing specific interventions (i.e., disease focus, behavior focus, geographic focus, socio-demographic focus, novel or episodic health event, risk and event focus specific to the military population, and other focuses as deemed necessary based on ongoing surveillance of the targeted TRICARE beneficiaries in the San Diego metropolitan area). Will serve as a subject matter resource for primary and secondary intervention strategies to command personnel responsible for delivering interventions to San Diego Population Health beneficiaries.

Major Responsibilities:

-Design primary and secondary interventions for San Diego Population Health beneficiaries utilizing evidence based methodologies (such as PRECEDE-PROCEED, social marketing, etc.), and incorporating best practices as deemed relevant to San Diego Population Health beneficiaries.

-Work in conjunction with government health/wellness personnel and leaders to develop and implement a comprehensive population health social media strategy

-Develop a specific population health social media strategy consistent with government social media standards and guidelines within the defined timeframe. This strategy should be updated quarterly thereafter.

-Develop and refine multi-dimensional intervention strategies that include tactics such as: mass communications with beneficiaries; health coaching in clinical settings, community settings, and individual/small group settings; educational seminars and events; case management; clinical pharmacist support; health monitoring devices; internet-based tools and mobile applications etc

-Expand targeted populations as determined by the government lead for population health. The position will also assist in the review, development, and implementation of command-level policies, procedures, processes, and guidelines that support Population Health programs.

-Develop and define metrics of success, identify measurement tools, and establish additional measurement strategies for primary and secondary intervention strategies.

-Develop various tasks related reports/ deliverables on a timely basis to meet government requirements, consistently throughout the period of performance.

Salary DOE: $85,000 - $96,000

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Health Education, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent field

-Certificate in Health Education

-Recent experience in developing and training consumer education or public/population health at government, community/business settings

-Experience in communication and marketing strategy, designing media campaign, web, social networking, print, etc.

-Possess a deep understanding of industry best practices in health social media strategy

-Hands-on experience in needs assessment strategies.

-Excellent, communication, report writing and documentation skills

-Candidates with recent experience in supporting military medical centers are preferred

Other:

-Candidate must be able to get a favorable National Agency Check with Local Agency Checks and Credit Checks (NACLC) clearance
