Genomics Facility Manager
Van Andel Research Institute (VARI) is a leading independent biomedical research facility and we are currently seeking to hire a Genomics Facility Manager. VARI is dedicated to determining the epigenetic, genetic, molecular and cellular origins of cancer, Parkinson’s and other diseases, and translating those findings into effective therapies. As our in-house expert you will:
- Manage and trouble-shoot library sample preparation from difficult analytes, sample (quality control) QC-ing, sample clustering on the cBot and operation of Illumina’s Next Generation Sequencing machines.
- Optimize protocols, monitor project progress, and oversee day-to-day operations of the facility.
- Provide supervision and/or special training to technical personnel in HTS related research projects.
- Stay up to date on HTS literature and recommend enhancements or propose new procedures to meet the needs of VARI.
