Job Description

The Genomic Reporting Analyst will take variant-level information generated by HLI’s bioinformatics pipeline write interpretive genomic reports applicable to HLI’s planned product offerings The Genomic Reporting Analyst will assess genetic variants in the context of the customer's complete molecular profile to deliver clinical reports.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Utilizing the information provided by the HLI bioinformatics team, the analyst will write interpretive genomic reports relevant to the customer's profile.

  • The Genomic Reporting Analyst will work with bioinformatics/IT to design and modify queries to the HLI database to support semi-automated clinical reporting.

  • Partner closely with the curation team to modify data collection, prioritize content, and initiate quality control projects.

  • Conduct data analysis, using clinical reporting statistics, to support scientific publications for the Clinical Services group and/or internal research groups.

  • Conduct due-diligence on proposed clinical offerings and design new curation paradigms and clinical reports to support new clinical offerings. 

  • A lead Genomic Reporting Analyst level will be responsible for managing other genomic reporting analysts, monitoring reporting workflows and prioritizing reporting related projects.


Minimum Qualifications

  • An advanced degree in genetic counseling, genetic epidemiology, human genetics, pharmacology or a related field

  • A deep understanding of NGS technologies

  • Experience in interpreting clinical variant data or making therapeutic recommendations from NGS based assays

  • Previous experience in a clinical setting or as a technical writer

  • Strong analytic skills

  • Ability to communicate clearly to diverse stakeholders across the organization

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Previous experience in creating reports from genomic data in a CLIA/CAP environment

  • Understanding of regulations of LDT tests
