Job Description

The Regional Medical Specialist is a critical position to the company, responsible for providing clinical education and support to healthcare providers in the identification and management of hereditary cancer syndromes. The Regional Medical Specialist functions as a field-based member of the Medical Affairs department within their business unit. This position requires field travel (averaging about 3 days per week) and home office work, with up to 80% of time spent on client interaction. The majority of travel is within a defined geographic region, but additional travel may be required for occasional educational or corporate meetings.


• Work closely with sales, marketing and managed care to implement the goals and strategies of the company. • Influence community healthcare providers to adopt hereditary cancer risk assessment as standard of care. • Provide consistent messaging and training to healthcare providers regarding identification and management of high risk patients. • Manage time and territory needs and prioritize company objectives. • Assist in the creation of educational and training materials used to communicate company products and services. • Employ strong project management skills by prioritizing and leading multiple tasks concurrently Candidates for the position include Board Certified/Board Eligible genetic counselors; or licensed Advanced Practice Nurses or Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 to 5 years relevant risk assessment experience. Candidates should have well developed organizational, communication, presentation and project management skills. Candidates should have the ability to interact effectively in a team environment regardless of personnel function or reporting responsibilities. Preferred Skills: • Experience with hereditary cancer risk assessment in the clinical setting is strongly desired. • Additionally, we would like the candidate to have at least one year of post-graduate clinical experience but it is not required.
