Job Description

We are seeking a Genetic Counselor who is highly motivated to join our efforts to offer non-invasive prenatal tests to all pregnant women.


The Genetic Counselor, (a senior scientific liaison under Illumina, Inc.), will be part of Genetic Counseling Team reporting to the Director of Genetics and will work closely with the Market Development, laboratory directors, clinical laboratory operations, sales and marketing to deliver superior customer support.


•Support physician and patient inquiries regarding testing.

•Expected participation/contribution to development of education and training materials directed at genetic counselors and patients with the clinical and marketing teams.

•Opportunities to speak and participate in local and national society activities and committees as indicated.

•Ability to effectively communicate technical and clinical aspects of the science behind NIPT, and other RGH products.

•Flexibility to provide training to international clients, and also provide ongoing clinical support, involved with meetings, publications, research, education, training, marketing write-ups and other support required for the overall operations


Education and Experience

•Master’s Degree in Genetic Counseling
•5 yrs. minimum with at least 3 years in prenatal or related practice


•Knowledge, familiarity with molecular methods for prenatal diagnosis (cytogenetics, FISH, CGH microarray, PCR, NIPT)

•Teaching and speaking experience in the field of genetics counseling and/or development of educational materials for patients and clinicians a plus

•Excellent communication skills and presentation skills

•Ability to function on interdisciplinary team(s)

•Experience, skill with electronic data handling – Microsoft word, excel, Adobe PDF files, other electronic tools for secure data sharing

•Flexibility of travel including international travel (2weeks or more/month)
