Performing formulation of pharmaceutical and ophthalmic product solutions for lyophilized products. 
Essentials Functions: 
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 
- Formulation of product solutions as well as cleaning/sanitizing solutions. 
- Set up / Post use cleaning of formulation equipment. 
- Transfer of product and non-product related solutions to filling areas. 
- Following Standard Operating Procedures and Batch Record processes. 
- Assuring proper documentation of all duties performed and material usages. 
- Interaction with Contract clients. 
- Interact with quality groups in response to deviations 
- Review MBR records 
- Scheduling 
- Training 
- PM's 
- Task Confirmation Board 
- Special Projects

Education and Experience: 
High School or GED. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required in Chemistry or Biology from a four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
Job Prerequisites: 
Must be a current Akorn Formulator for more than 6 months. 
Ability to meet attendance standards. All full-time employees are required to work a 40-hr week. At times it may be necessary to work additional hours in order to get the required tasks accomplished to meet deadlines. 
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: Requires gowning certification, the use of steel toed shoes, 
respirators, safety glasses, latex gloves and face shield.
