Position: Field Service Engineer
Location: Major cities, mainland China. Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing, or other major cities with a major airport.
This is a field-based position that provides on-site customer support for Pacific Biosciences revolutionary new third generation DNA sequencing platform and support / oversight for our worldwide distributor network.
This person will install equipment at customer sites, ensure it meets performance specifications, and train operators on its use. They will be responsible for the ongoing repair, maintenance and upgrade of the instrument at multiple customer locations. They will perform training and assisting distributor service engineers in these activities as required. Consistent with a start-up environment, this position will require flexibility in job responsibilities, travel and assignments.
The successful candidate will have superior customer management and technical skills in both engineering, systems level troubleshooting, and science disciplines. This person will be responsible for editing and modifying Service and Training manuals, Field Service Bulletins, and Standard Operating Procedures. They must be able to function independently but also work closely with Tech support, Regional Field Service, Manufacturing, and Field Sales and Support teams.
