Job Description

The Field Application Specialist – with Key Focus in NGS will provide highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation, training, customer education, troubleshooting/repair, IQ/OQ and general support of QIAGEN NGS solutions, including consumables, instrumentation and applications in all markets. Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the system.  Serves as company liaison along sample to insights with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.  Interprets customers’ needs and identifies the correct course of action. Promotes the sale of service products.

Requirements

• Extensive practical/lab experience, or at least 2 Years Technical Service or Field Service within a relevant market sector
• Experience with Next Generation Sequencing technologies and applications
• Experience with statistical software programs and web-based tools to retrieve and analyze data a plus
• Comprehensive technical knowledge and understanding of QIAGEN and/or competitor products for all market segments
• Diagnostic experience is highly desirable
• Experience with and/or certified in regulatory environments such as CLIA, HIPAA, Safe-Harbor, ACGS, or other Global human genetics regulation is a plus
• Valid drivers license and Passport and willingness to extensive travel, national and internationally
• Experience with Next Generation Sequencing technologies and applications
• Experience with statistical software programs and web-based tools to retrieve and analyze data a plus
• Excellent written, presentation, and verbal skills including strong public speaking experience
• Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
