Job Description

This position is responsible for supporting North American sales staff in identifying the needs of potential customers and recommending STEMCELL products and custom solutions that meet their needs to maximize revenue. This position will also be responsible for building the STEMCELL brand by giving talks, building relationships with leaders in the field and attending/organizing strategic product demonstrations. 

  • Travel with Sales Representatives visiting key labs to perform routine and technically challenging demos for customers/potential customers as required (significant travel is required – up to 50% of time)
  • Identify new applications and product-enhancement opportunities in anticipation of customer needs and work in the lab with other R&D scientists on development of custom solutions (significant lab work is required - up to 50% of time in the lab).
  • Monitor competitor products and assess product performance in R&D
  • Teach and train customers on the use of products
  • Work with Sales Manager and other Field Application Specialists to prioritize work with customers
  • Assist in part maintenance and repair of demo units if requested
  • Represent STEMCELL Technologies at conferences, workshops and trade shows as required
  • Perform analysis on demos and market as required
  • Assist in revenue generation to meet revenue targets
  • Liaise with new cell separation sales staff to ensure proper training
  • Give scientific talks/product overviews at strategically important labs
  • Provide scientific information to Tech Support department to assist with customer questions
Requirements
  • PhD (or equivalent experience) in Immunology or related field
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a dynamic team
  • Ability to explain scientific and technical information to both experts and non-experts alike
  • Excellent trouble-shooting and customer service skills
  • Sales experience and additional languages would be assets
