Job Description

The College of Pharmacy at the University of Kentucky invites applications of tenured Associate and Full Professors for the inaugural appointment of the Larry H. Spears Endowed Chair in Pharmacogenetics/Pharmacogenomics. The successful candidate will have a PharmD, MD, PhD or other terminal degree and an established track record using pharmacogenetic/pharmacogenomic approaches. Candidates with a record in translational studies using pharmacogenetics/pharmacogenomics for personalized therapy and improved health care outcomes are highly sought. Those with expertise in cancer, neuroscience, cardiovascular, or infectious diseases will be given special consideration.

 

Many opportunities exist for collaboration within the College of Pharmacy and with investigators in multidisciplinary centers including the Institute for Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy, the Center for the Advancement of Pharmacy Practice, the Center for Pharmaceutical Research and Innovation, the Markey Cancer Center, Sanders-Brown Center on Aging, the Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Center, the Gill Heart Institute, Barnstable Brown Kentucky Diabetes and Obesity Center, and the Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences. Candidates with documented expertise in pharmacogenetics/pharmacogenomics in any research setting will be considered. Candidates must demonstrate a sustained track record of extramural funding and scholarly output. Evidence of successful mentoring of graduate, fellow, or professional trainees in the area of pharmacogenetics/pharmacogenomics is also essential.
