The Biodesign Institute addresses today's critical global challenges in healthcare, sustainability, and security by developing solutions inspired from natural systems and translating those solutions into commercially viable products and clinical practices.
The Biodesign Center for Single Molecular Biophysics uses nanotechnology to study the physical processes on which life is based using the simplest model systems — those that exist on the level of a single molecule or several molecules. By doing this, we can gain a better understanding of gene regulation, molecular signaling and molecular transport in cells that will lead to improved biosensors and other new technologies.
