In this role, you will lead and direct scientific work to support the experimental design, optimization and validation of novel nucleic acid based biomarker assays as you: 
- Perform DNA and RNA extractions from various biological materials including formalin fixed tissues specimens and whole blood, using manual and automated methods 
- Run PCR, qPCR, and RT-qPCR instrumentation 
- Perform DNA sequencing using Sanger and NGS methods 
- Use computer software for experimental design and data analysis 
- Write and review technical documents such as SOPs and Design Control documents 
- Maintain the lab in a regulated environment 

This position is based in our newly constructed Morrisville, NC Diagnostics Development facility. 

This position can be filled as a Research Associate or Scientist depending upon the education, training, and experience of the candidate.

What we're looking for 

The experience of an ideal candidate includes: 
- At least a Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline with a preference for an advanced degree 
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on lab experience in nucleic acid isolation and analysis or a higher level of education may be substituted for experience 
- Proven expertise and track record in qPCR or DNA sequencing and related data analysis 
- Expertise with Next Gen Sequencing (NGS) using Illumina or Ion Torrent platforms is highly preferred 
- Some experience working in a regulated environment preferred (CAP, CLIA, IVD)

Minimal Requirements: 
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline 
- An advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a relecant scientific discipline Experience 
Minimal Requirements:
