As the prevalence of molecular diagnostics increases and the connection between diagnostics and pharmaceuticals strengthens further, services to novel diagnostic innovators and laboratories will be a growth driver for Premier Source, a part of Lash Group and AmerisourceBergen.  The individual in this role will be responsible for the diagnostics sales activities including identifying and prioritizing prospects, developing the value story and associated content, and actively engaging prospect to earn their business. The person in this role will also negotiate new contracts, oversee program implementation, and may be required to manage other sales people. 

Job Description
  1. Develops new business relationships and oversees all consultations with prospects/customers to create profitable business relationships taking into account such factors as customer's vision and goals.
  2. Responsible for managing and organizing the RFP, Proposal defense and contract negotiations to secure new business.
  3. Responsible for all aspects of the sales cycle.
  4. Ensures contract deliverables are met and creates potential to expand opportunities across ABSG business units.
  5. Partners with ABSG businesses to bring more value and solutions to our potential customers.
  6. Complete knowledge of Premier Source Service Offering and ability to articulate the Premier Source solution and value proposition to our potential clients.
  7. In partnership with leadership and other relevant SMEs, may be required to lead regular business reviews (quarterly unless otherwise defined by the client) with assigned accounts.
  8. The ability to collaborate with internal customers to define optimal solution for each business opportunity.
  9. Represents Premier Source at industry trade association meetings.
  10. Responsible for delivering sales presentations to key customers.
  11. Provides feedback, industry knowledge and specific recommendations to Corporate on programs, products, prices and the competition.
  12. Regularly, monitors and analyzes pipeline reports, product signature and data which are used consistently throughout ABC to target new business opportunities and develop strategies to insure continued success of that growth.
  13. Must be willing to work extended hours, as needed, in order to meet sales objectives; must be willing to travel extensively.
  14. Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Requires completion of a four year bachelor's degree, preferably in business, or a relevant medical discipline. Normally requires a minimum of ten  (10) years of related and progressively responsible experience within the healthcare / pharma industry

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Deep knowledge of, and practical experience in molecular diagnostics, service delivery, contracting and finances
  2. Ability to learn and understand Premier Source and Lash Group service offerings and operations
  3. Strong presentation skills
  4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, for the purpose of preparing plans, reports and disseminating information
  5. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain cooperative business relationships, internally and externally
  6. Strong negotiation skills
  7. Strong analytic skills
  8. Ability to interpret data specific to diagnostics and/or Premier Source service levels and identify issues requiring action
  9. Ability to interpret industry trends and competitive information and develop strategies and tactics to respond to changes in the marketplace
  10. Strong creative thinking skills and ability to convert abstract ideas into actionable plans
  11. Working knowledge of computers necessary to operate effectively with company systems and programs
  12. Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and colleagues, up to 75%.
