Job Description

We are currently seeking a Director of Sales for Commercial Development! The Director of Sales is accountable for results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to drive sales through development and execution of strategic growth plans. This position will coordinate closely with functional leads to ensure the sales strategy has strong operational alignment to support the strategic initiatives of the four business units. 

About the Role:

  • Develop and implement an aggressive, consultative, technically-oriented sales and client experience strategy for all of Aldevron's platforms and product services
  • Help lead development of Aldevron's commercial development strategy, and the tactical implementation plans in collaboration with the SVP Commercial Development, Business Unit Presidents, and other senior managers across the company
  • Research, identify and develop new business prospects, including key accounts or additional opportunities in the marketplace, using multiple sources
  • Develop strategic client retention plans that result in long term, mutually beneficial relationships in conjunction with other Business Unit Sales Leaders
  • Manage commercial pipeline, creating opportunity records, writing quotes, and closing business through maintenance of current and accurate data in CRM
  • Hire, train, develop, and coach team members to create an environment of high engagement and performance
  • Partner with executive leaders across all functions to facilitate client feedback, assist in establishing and ensuring the sales/marketing goals are met
  • Represent Aldevron by attending trade shows and conferences and maintaining active membership and participation in industry member groups and events
  • Effectively communicate and deliver cross-platform capability presentations and align sales strategy across business units
Requirements

About You:

  • This position requires 70% travel
  • Minimum of 10 years experience of successful commercial leadership within Life Sciences 
  • Prior pharmaceutical or CDMO experience in technical functions of development of manufacturing preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences required
  • Master's degree or Ph.D preferred
