Job Description

The Director, Global Business Management will focus on establishing QIAGEN as a strategic partner in defined Global Key Accounts. Through a total customer management approach involving our complete portfolio with sample to insight solutions, they will focus on long term value co-creation, and an increase of our share of wallet through collaboration excellence. With a customer centered management process they will work and partner with the Key Accounts to enable the achievement of their goals, to shape the market, to set standards and to drive mutual and profitable growth.

 

  • Responsible for the Global Account Strategy, internal alignment with the Business Area (including R&D) and sign off by top management
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key contacts in the organization including the C-suite and prepare various vertical market strategies to enhance growth, including QIAGEN Stakeholders
  • Integrate «Executive Sponsorship» into the process
  • Responsible for KPI development and implementation to measure progress with the Global Key Accounts
  • Analyze and prepare analysis about potential and increase share of wallet, forecast for various selling procedures, and design effective comprehensive sales plans 
  • Analyze all customer requirements and develop solutions to complex problems and provide assistance to a variety of services and products
  • Manage and interpret all new businesses and associate knowledge to achieve all organization objectives
  • Document all communication plans and processes and prepare reports to be submitted to senior management
  • Facilitate and develop various projects to ensure optimal customer delivery for both domestic and international locations
  • Coordinate with global and regional resources such as the regional Key Account Managers and ensure that all work meets customer requirements at multiple sites 
  • Maintain and update knowledge on all new technology in business and participate in various professional meetings
  • Support Head Global Customer Management with a continuous feedback loop for improvement and necessary changes

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Min. Master of Natural Sciences or MBA
  • Min. 5-7 years of complex sales experience (account management)
  • Established high level contacts in industry or diagnostic networks 
  • Excellent knowledge of markets and key accounts/customers
  • Excellent decision making skills
  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal skills including strong public speaking experience
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage complex projects
  • Proven business acumen
  • Willingness and ability to take on additional responsibilities and undertake challenging tasks and/or projects

Travel:

  • Extensive travel required (up to 75%)
