We are recruiting for a Director of the DNA Sequencing and Genotyping Core for the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Research Foundation. The DNA Sequencing and Genotyping Core is an institutional laboratory centralizing the generation of genomic data using Sanger sequencing, SNP genotyping and Next Generation Sequencing. The Core operates within the Division of Human Genetics and serves the institution’s research and clinical genomic data needs through the Hospital’s Molecular Genetics Laboratory and the Research Foundation’s recently established Center for Pediatric Genomics.
The facility operates state of the art instrumentation, including 2 Illumina HiSeq2500, and Miseq and HiScan machines. The Director is responsible for all of the Core’s resources, inclusive of a diverse 8-person team, instrumentation and budget of approximately $1.5M, Primary responsibilities are to: 1) evaluate and incorporate new genomic technologies as appropriate for providing services to Core users; 2) develop and maintain instrumentation and procedures for delivery of data to its users; and 3) assure operations meet with all federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies, including those required to maintain the CLIA Quality Assurance program.
