The Director of Applied Bioinformatics will be directly responsible for designing and delivering robust, scalable data analysis solutions to extract biological meaning from next generation genomic data. This pivotal position will collaborate with colleagues in our Applied Genomics Laboratory, Product Sciences, Process Development, Data Management, Biostatistics and IT to develop pipeline solutions that enable Genomic Health to discover and develop next generation product content. You should have experience developing next generation sequencing data analysis methods for DNA and/or RNA sequence as well as software engineering expertise such as Java, Perl, Python programming experience; grid and/or cloud computing familiarity; database experience; experience with a workflow management technology (Galaxy, Pipeline Pilot, Kepler, etc.) is a definite advantage. You will manage a team that is designing, building, delivering and supporting high throughput bioinformatics pipelines to support our ongoing NGS biomarker discovery and product development studies.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of both innovative and pragmatic bioinformatics methods development and delivery, preferably in an applied, high throughput setting (industry or genome center). You will be a proven team player with leadership skills and experience.
