Job Description

We currently have a great opportunity for a Computational Biologist/Bioinformatics Scientist who will be responsible for genomic data analysis. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a collaborative research environment and be able to provide evidence of relevant research expertise in the form of presentations, software, technical publications, and/or knowledge of applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform statistical and bioinformatic analyses of experimental data produced by next generation sequencing instruments, qPCR, and other genomic methods.
  • Conduct data mining over internally produced and publicly available data sets
  • Develop computational solutions to address biologically relevant questions
  • Collaborate with scientists across the organization
Requirements
  • PhD or Master’s degree with 5+ years of computational biology/bioinformatics experience
  • Degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Genomics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or related field; Multidisciplinary experience preferred
  • Proficient in biological sequence analysis and analysis of next-generation sequencing data
  • Strong knowledge of human genetics, statistics, algorithms and exploratory data analyses
  • Proven track record of proficiency in data analysis and statistical learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
