Job Description

Invitae is a rapidly growing genetic testing company driven by the mission to expand access to high-quality, comprehensive, low-cost genetic testing. Specializing in genetic diagnostics for hereditary disorders, Invitae is aggregating the world’s genetic tests into a single service with better quality, faster turnaround time, and a lower price than most single-gene diagnostic tests today. To support this growth we are seeking a qualified individual to support our commercial strategy and execution. This will include leading efforts around marketing campaigns, product launches, identifying sales priorities and targets, as well as establishing pharma and advocacy partnerships for our expanding neurology, pediatrics and rare disease panel product line.  The Commercial Manager will be responsible for the development and execution of programs and work closely with the commercial area lead, commercial operations, product management, and sales.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Supports strategy development to identify key priorities and initiatives
  • Prepares and executes a multi-channel, comprehensive marketing program strategy that utilizes key tactics such as email campaigns, webinars, advertisements, sponsorships, social media/ online marketing programs, etc. to reach new leads to grow the sales funnel, drive awareness and adoption, optimize customer acquisition, and provide customer retention
  • Supports product launch and develops product positioning and messaging that is effectively communicated and reaches the appropriate target audience
  • Measures and reports on the effectiveness of marketing programs and campaigns, with the purpose of improving resource allocation, cost of acquisition, overall efficiency and revenue generation
  • Communicates the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develops the sales tools that support the selling process of your products
  • Identifies and prioritizes potential partnerships across various channels including pharma and advocacy organizations
  • Supports relationship development and discussions from lead identification to developing deal terms with external partners
Requirements
  • Highly driven individual with a desire to help drive growth in a fast moving environment
  • 4+ years related marketing, partnering, and strategy development experience with successful track record
  • Prior experience in clinical, medical, or life science industries; specific knowledge of genetics, neurology and pediatrics a plus
  • Superior communication skills, verbal and written; superior analytical skills including the ability to structure complicated problems and drive towards solutions
  • Experience in managing and executing B2B direct marketing customer lead generation and acquisition program a plus
  • Experience assessing opportunity value and driving partnering discussions a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple, high-priority projects with a keen attention to detail
  • Knowledge of CRM systems (Salesforce.com) and Marketing automation systems (Act-on) and analysis software (Tableau) a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well with other team members, customers, sales, etc.
  • MBA or MS or PhD or equivalent degree desired
