Job Description

The successful candidate will bring to this role sales consulting and business development experience and the ability to coordinate and collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams and cultivate key strategic partnerships. We are open to candidates in any U.S. location.
 
 
All About You
 
Responsibilities:
 

  • Identify new commercial opportunities and inform market strategies through a deep understanding of customer and marketplace dynamics and trends. 

  • Manage a set of priority accounts and build partnerships to develop and advance commercial opportunities.

  • Execute commercial strategies aimed at maximizing customer satisfaction by aligning customer needs to product solutions.

  • Build and further relationships with key decision makers and/or potential influencers in priority accounts

  • Maintain and own relationships with Key Opinion Leaders to understand and prioritize complete systems (sample to answer) development and drive associated development plans.

  • Work with cross functional teams to deliver product or system requirements.

  • Function independently and coordinate assay development or project plans with internal and external scientists. 

  • Develop and implement strategy for enablement of potential products or systems for a regulated or defined market.

  • Address challenges and solve  problems within a regulated or defined environment.

  • Drive Market Leadership position for Illumina’s product portfolio.

Requirements

Requirements:
 

  • Skilled communicator and negotiator working with translational scientists

  • Experience in pulling teams together and meeting commercial goals

  • 3-5 years relevant experience in assay development or clinical diagnostics

  • Self-starter with the ability to create and execute strategic plans

  • Ability to build and analyze models to forecast and track results

  • Min. 5 years of business development, sales or marketing development experience

  • Willingness to travel ~40%

  • Clinical or Medical background/sales experience, and laboratory experience a must.

  • Proven track record in interactions with customers involving applications development or support within a regulated or defined market.

  • The ideal candidate for this role would be strategic in nature, focused and show great stamina in working collaboratively and independently.

  • Commercial acumen and the ability to promote a technical solution as a monetary value.

  • Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken.
