Our Diagnostics division (DX) has an exciting opening for a Clinical Lab Testing Technologist to join our talented team and help to support the continuing growth of our business.   Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Perform molecular biological techniques as required, including nucleic acid extraction, gene expression microarray testing, and qPCR, and adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies in a CLIA laboratory setting.
• Utilize the Laboratory Information Management System for sample/result documentation and tracking
• Participate in the validation/commissioning, calibration, maintenance and running of automated and non-automated laboratory equipment.
• Prepare buffers and reagents for laboratory processes, as required.
• Ensure that supporting documentation is maintained as per defined procedures.
• Identify any non-conformances that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results;take action to correct them with the minimum disruption to laboratory work or immediately notify the laboratory supervisor or Director of Operations
• Assist in identifying and testing/optimizing new laboratory testing methods as required.
• Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.


  B.S. in chemical or biological science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution
• M.S. in chemical or biological science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution preferred
• Board Certification as a Medical Technologist or Technologist in Molecular Biology qualified to work within a CLIA Laboratory performing high complexity testing preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in performing high complexity molecular testing in a CLIA laboratory setting
• Practical experience performing clinical molecular testing within a CAP accredited high complexity testing environment preferred
• Experience performing nucleic acid extractions (DNA and RNA) and PCR
• Experience using Laboratory Information Management Systems
• Practical experience performing equipment validation/calibration on automated and non-automated platforms
• Experience with gene expression analysis utilizing microarray and/or qPCR platforms preferred
• Experience performing Next Generation Sequencing preferred
• Experience liaising with internal and external customers for efficient laboratory test result generation and reporting

Skills/Additional Qualifications
• Proven ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in all work undertaken
• Proven ability to organize, plan and prioritize tasks within a high volume, varied workload.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (to include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
