Job Description

Working as part of the operations team based in our global headquarters in Craigavon, you will be responsible for day-to-day supervision of clinical test delivery (i.e. to CLIA, ISO15189 or any other pertinent clinical testing standards) within Almac Diagnostics. This includes supervising Clinical Testing Personnel, ensuring that all testing is performed in accordance with customer and regulatory standards and that patient test reports are accurate and issued in a timely manner.

Requirements

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Biomedical Science, Biology, Molecular Biology or related life sciences discipline
  • Substantial years’ post-graduate experience performing high complexity molecular testing in a regulated clinical testing environment
  • Proven ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy in all work undertaken
  • Proven ability to organise, plan and prioritise tasks within a high volume varied workload
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
     

Desirable Criteria

(The following criteria may be applied if a large pool of applicants exist)

  • HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist or Biomedical Scientist (or equivalent)
  • PhD degree in Molecular Biology or related Life Sciences discipline
  • Experience supervising high complexity molecular testing in a regulated clinical testing environment
  • Experience in general laboratory management
