AncestryHealth (www.ancestryhealth.com) is seeking a motivated, collaborative, and talented computational biologist to develop state-of-the-art analyses of large-scale clinical and genomic data. Working with a nimble team of physicians, geneticists, statisticians, computer scientists and epidemiologists, the Clinical Informatics Scientist will invent algorithms and methods to interpret our singular data set of genotypes, pedigrees and phenotypes. We are seeking applicants who are eager to develop novel ways to extract actionable and accurate clinical genomics discoveries from medical records, genomics data, environmental data to advance healthcare, population health, and wellness.

Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will have an M.D. or Ph.D. in Biomedical Informatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. 
  • Demonstrated excellence in development algorithm development using EMR/EHR and “-omics” data, especially in clinical applications.
  • Familiarity with disease, pathology, and phenotype ontologies (including MedDRA, MeSH, SNOMED, and others).
  • A strong working knowledge of statistics and proficiency in one or more of Python, Java, C/C++ or R.
  • Experience with sequencing data and other types of high-throughput genomic data is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills will be needed in our fast-paced team.

A team of scientists leverages pedigrees, documents, demographics, and genomes to conduct innovative research in population genetics and create innovative new consumer products.
