Job Description

- The Business Analyst for Commercial Excellence and Sales Analytics promotes data driven growth utilizing a combination of technology acumen with sound business principles which are integrated into creative business solutions. The BACE&SA serves as a link between information technology capabilities and business objectives -- essentially transforming data into a more usable format and solving business-related problems using data-driven techniques.
- The BACE&SA is adept at assessing the company’s accumulated data and turning it into information that leadership can use to make business decisions. In this role, the BACE&SA provides resources to help Commercial Operations utilize information (not just aggregate it) and understand how to leverage it to make informed decisions.
- The BACE&SA plays a key role in evaluating systems and providing competitive solutions. This can involve developing new systems or revamping existing areas of the business. They are able to harness the volume of data/information being produced into a clear view to improve insights and results; and to identify trends that can result in improvements.
- The BACE&SA has a dual role of a technology expert who can dive deep into data sets and software programs; and as a communicator who can identify order and patterns in data and deliver insights/trends to advise senior management and non-technical colleagues.
- The BACE&SA interacts with Commercial Operations (Sales, Marketing, Customer Care, Field Service) and Finance on alignment of business process, workflow analysis, sales reporting and analysis, ensuring process and reporting is in line with financial and company objectives.
- Support standardization of process workflow across Regional organizational structures while continuing to assist commercial operations in driving towards objectives. Position will require a Global perspective, but will require an understanding of Regional views as processes and procedures begin to standardize.


- Bachelor’s degree in business, statistics, technology or equivalent with strong quantitative focus.
- CBAP certification a plus.
- 3-5 years’ experience in data analysis; enterprise applications; or project management.
- Proficient in the use of technology tools to collect/extract information from data warehouses and generate reports for managers/executives to use when creating strategies and making decisions.
- Able to analyze and synthesize current business intelligence and trend information to develop business insights and support recommendations for action.
- Review, assess, define and document business functions and processes.
- Adept at modeling techniques and methods; conducting a cost/benefit analysis; and
business case development.
- Acts as a change agent to help facilitate effective deployments/modifications to current practices
- Contributes as a key member of a dedicated team that looks at and presents data in innovative ways to drive more effective growth.
- Frequently perform periodic and ad-hoc sales & related analyses, including:
-> Analyses for QIAGEN Supervisory Board and Executive Committee.
-> Conclusions and recommendation to global S&M team.
-> Developing graphic forecasting and early warning systems.
- Coordinate and drive revenue part of annual budget and 3 year plan / monthly forecasting with global and regional S&M teams.
