Job Description

Navican Genomics, Inc., an innovative precision cancer care company, is seeking a Business Development Director to build strategic partnerships, create strategic plans, scope and own strategic projects and programs, build financial models, and lead the Business Development team. This is a great opportunity for a motivated team player looking to apply their talent real-time to driving growth and improving patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will be strategic, analytical, hard-working, entrepreneurial, with experience in deal negotiation and structuring, financial modeling, and developing strategic plans and presentations ideally in pharma, health insurance, health IT, and affiliated markets, strategy consulting, or investment banking.

 

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Develop strategic partnerships and deals with pharma, health IT, payer, and healthcare companies
    • Identify, segment, prioritize potential partners
    • Structure and negotiate deals (contracts, licensing, JV, M&A)
    • Own ongoing partner relationships
  • Create strategic business plans, draw financial and organizational implications
    • Conduct market and competitive research, analyze trends, draw insights
    • Outline strategic options and plans
    • Develop financial implications of various strategies
    • Create implementation plans
  • Scope, launch, and own strategic projects and programs (e.g., programs with strategic partners)
  • Build financial models, valuations, budgets, long-term financial plans
  • Develop Board, investor, executive presentations
  • Create key performance indicators, conduct benchmarking
  • Build and lead the Business Development team

 

Requirements

 

Education and Experience Required

  • MBA or PhD degree
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience, ideally in pharma, health insurance, health IT, and affiliated markets, strategy consulting, or investment banking
  • Outstanding negotiations, deal-structuring skills
  • Outstanding financial modeling, valuations skills
  • Outstanding problem solving, analytical skills
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure
  • Ability to translate analysis into actionable solutions
  • Ability to work independently as well lead a team
  • Collaborative, ambitious, self-starter
  • Strives in dynamic, entrepreneurial environments
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information appropriately
