Job Description

 NAViCAN is seeking a Business Analyst to provide functional expertise, high level business process overviews and insight where appropriate, as well as produce specifications for any new / change to technology applications.  The Business Analyst will assist in developing performance reports and metrics for use in long-term, quarterly, and annual planning. The ideal candidate will be analytical, hard-working, and experienced in financial analysis.  Primary Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Provides functional feasibility assessment to the business partners related to emerging initiatives
  • Provides high-level business process and technical overviews and insight where appropriate
  • Maintains continuity between business team and IS organization throughout complete system development life cycle
  • Serves as primary contact between technology and business end-users in understanding the specific business requirements, and prioritization of business capability
  • Identifies, assesses, and documents business requirements, recommending business priorities and advising business on options, risks and costs versus benefits of various solutions
  • Conducts research to determine if solutions to business requirements currently exist within or outside the business, and if not, whether new solutions are feasible
  • Examine the divisional financial information in order to make suggestions on financial performance and goals
  • Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, expenditures, etc.)
  • Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts
  • Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis
  • Assemble and summarize data to structure reports on financial performance
  • Perform various other duties as assigned
  • Helps analyze impact of proposed solution on existing technology platforms
  • Develops use cases to explain / demonstrate business requirements / specifications to the technology team
  • Contributes a business or process perspective during design reviews
  • Provides input into project / resource estimating activities
  • Identifies and communicates risks to delivering solution on time
  • Establish strong working relationships with technology team members, functional counterparts, vendors and related business partners
  • Participate in the development of solutions to meet business needs



Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Proven working experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Outstanding presentation, reporting, written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, Microsoft Office Suite knowledge required
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
