This person’s main responsibility will be to analyze, design and interpret NGS experiments performed by molecular biologists. This person will have a strong understating of molecular biology. They will have a very strong ability to design experiments that give meaningful metrics from NGS data. A grasp of statistical significance, importance of replicates and ideally experience with "design of experiment" concepts, which are often times counter-intuitive but powerful and efficient in optimizing large numbers of experimental parameters. Software ability will be secondary, but this person should at least have a working knowledge of common scripting and statistical languages like python/bash/R/awk/sed/grep. They should have the ability to write simple scripts while leveraging 3rd party tools in order to support in analysis of the experiments that they help design.
- Design and interpret experiments to improve existing, and generate new genotyping applications for a targeted sequencing assay
- Work closely with molecular biologists in order to ensure meaningful statistical analysis can be performed on the resulting data
