Job Description

Responsible for providing the technical and/or clinical support during the sales process but also plays a leadership role within the local applications team in a limited geographic region or limited industry/product segment. Responsible for providing the required demo, installation and customer service support sales objectives for their geography.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and clinical leadership during sales process by demonstrating full range of product features including potential uses, product capabilities and benefits to customers and discuss current chromatographic theory, state of the art large scale column packing methodology, and modeling studies on pressure flow relations used in scale up predictions

- Develop and deliver product training to customers on equipment use, monitor customer installations of ultrasound products within assigned territory/region to improve customer satisfaction and maintain customer relationships

- Support trade shows and professional conferences by performing product demonstration and customer training

- Use market and product knowledge to assist sales team in developing sales, marketing and customer service strategies

- Facilitate team communication and the sharing of best practices

- Assist with the assimilation of new hires into the organization

- Act as a mentor to field team, providing clinical, technical and professional guidance as necessary to improve the customer experience

- Communicate with Sales and Application Leaders to align applications activities with sales needs and business objectives

- Communicate with local Applications Specialists and Account Managers to ensure all customer and business needs are met

- Energize team and maintain adherence of field processes

Requirements: 

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or Masters Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering

- Knowledge of pharmaceutical; biopharmaceuticals production, including large scale purification

- Demonstrated proficiencies in current chromatographic theory and practice beyond academia research(30 cm or larger)

- Demonstrated proficiencies in protein chemistry & biochemical separations

- Management skills :

- Team management building and leading multi-
expertise/disciplines teams; manage trades, outside vendors

- Project management skills (including longer term projects )

- Client management - Maintain customer relationships through
troubleshooting or problem solving (often as last line of technical defense)
Presale, point of sale, post-sale work using solution based approach

- Awareness/familiarity with clean room-regulations, quality, validation etc.

- Educator/trainer-presentation skills, public speaking skills important

- Proficiency in computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite products including PowerPoint, Excel and Word

- Heavy lifting up to (50)

vehicle for company business, you must be willing to submit to a check of your driving record

- This role requires travel up to 20%
Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
Desired Characteristics:
- PhD degree preferred in related business or technical/clinical field
- PhD + 5 Years OR Master + 10 years
- Previous management experience
- Engineering background helpful; construction/design
- Experience educating others to teach column packing
- Manufacturing experience in validated setting preferred
- Five or more years of demonstrated chromatography experience
- Experience with GE Lifesciences separations products
- Strong leadership skills (respected by peers and leadership for contributions to the business)
- Technical support history
- Strong presentation skills (public speaking and lecture experience desired)
- Experience maintaining a laboratory-around 18000 square feet-lab and storage; inventory to reconfigure (several ton);
- Demonstrated ability to prepare buffers at scale.
- Demonstrated ability to use hand tools.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and present complex material in understandable terms
- Demonstrated interpersonal & communication skills (ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, to external customers, global counterparts and to team members in other functional organizations)
- Solid problem solving skills
- Proven professional business acumen (experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as a part of a solution-based sales process)
- Self-motivated, willingness to take the initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and take actions to improve
- Team oriented with a customer satisfaction mindset
- Ability to multi-task effectively and manage multiple priorities at one time)
- Demonstrated proficiency in Unicorn™ software
