Job Description

Desktop Genetics works with world-leading companies to develop the best enterprise and custom software tools in life science. We focus primarily on genome editing and laboratory infrastructure software for cell line engineering, synthetic biology and genome engineering companies. We want a BIOINFORMATICS SPECIALIST to join our full-time team of 6 and spearhead R&D in London. We are a two year old company and are expanding rapidly in 2015. The ideal candidate is: *Skilled at genomic data handling & developing bioinformatic algorithms *Skilled at curating datasets incl. REBASE, Ensembl, Addgene, NCBI *Proficient with MySQL & postgreSQL *Proficient in Genome Editing tools and techniques *A capable statistician *A talented Python developer *Able to mentor a dev team on bioinformatics techniques *Legally allowed to work in the EU, and can relocate to London *Javascript-proficient (preferred) *Experience managing teams (preferred) *A graduate of a relevant postgraduate degree and/or is experienced in bioinformatics, computational biology or computer science (preferred) …
